Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- A sure sign as to which unit will not fly under the radar can be found in preseason awards.

When the Preseason All-ACC team was released on Thursday, three Tigers made the cut - on defense.

All-American defensive end Vic Beasley is joined by defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and linebacker Stephone Anthony.

Clemson was not represented on the offensive squad, a far cry from the last few years when quarterback Tajh Boyd and receiver Sammy Watkins received a host of conference awards.

That should be a source of motivation for the Clemson offense which will be led by Cole Stoudt. The senior has seen game action but it was usually when the outcome was not in question. Now he assumes the controls of an offense that the coaches expect to continue to put up points, regardless who is under center.

Head coach Dabo Swinney is confident in Stoudt because of what the senior has shown in limited action and the way he prepares himself as a starter.

Cole has a pretty good example to follow in his father, Cliff, a former NFL backup who always prepared to be a starter when his number was called.
