Blythewood, SC (WLTX) -- The No. 1 ranked South Carolina Equestrian team defeated No. 2 Georgia in a tiebreaker to win the 2014 SEC Equestrian Championship at One Wood Farm on Saturday.

The equestrian team becomes the first team at the University of South Carolina to win back-to-back SEC Championships.

"I couldn't be any prouder of our girls today for the way they competed," South Carolina head coach Boo Major said. "Anytime you win a championship, it's certainly a special moment, but the way this team has carried itself this year and the way they've committed themselves to winning, it was nice to see it pay off this afternoon."

The final overall score from Saturday's championship meet was 10-10, with the Gamecocks winning the tiebreaker 4,040.25 to 4,036.75. Georgia was unofficially announced as the winner, but after the standard post-meet review, the Gamecocks were declared the winner.

In all sports, the Gamecocks now have 13 SEC Championships.
