Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Incoming USC women's basketball player A'ja Wilson has been been named to the USA Basketball Women's U18 National Team.

Wilson earned a spot on the roster from her performance in the six trials sessions held over the weekend at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.

They'll compete in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship August 6-10.

And Wilson will have a familiar face leading her--her soon to be college coach, Dawn Staley. Staley was picked earlier this year to lead the squad through the tournament.

Wilson, who's from Columbia and played high school ball at Heathwood Hall, committed to the Gamecocks last month. She was rated by several recruitng agencies as the number one player in the nation.
