South Carolina struggled all night to score as Maryland defeated them 10 to 1 to end the Gamecocks' 2014 season.

The Gamecocks got off to a good start, when Kyle Martin hit a double in the first inning to bring home Marcus Mooney. But that would be all from their offense, as they left 19 men on base during the game.

After going ahead 2-1 off a Blake Schmit single in the third, the Terrapins blew it open in the sixth when they scored four runs.

The loss is the Gamecocks earliest exit since 2009, when they lost to East Carolina in a regional held in Greenville, North Carolina. The last home exit for the Gamecocks took place in 2000, when they were defeated by Louisiana-Layfayette.

USC ends the season at 44-18.
