Columbia, SC (WLTX) - South Carolina Athletics Director Ray Tanner has gotten a raise and a contract extension.
The school's board of trustees approved the amended deal Friday morning,
Tanner will get an extra $50,000 a year, raising his pay to $725,000. His new deal lasts through 2019.
Tanner became athletics director on July 13, 2012, taking over for Eric Hyman, who left for AD job at Texas A&M. At the time, Tanner had just finished coaching the USC baseball team to three straight college World Series finals and two National Championships, the first titles in program history.
Since Tanner became AD, the school's athletics teams have continued the unprecedented success begun under Hyman. The football team has posted three straight 11 win seasons, including finishing with its highest ever postseason ranking in 2014, while the women's basketball team won its first-ever regular season conference title this past season.
