Irmo, SC (WLTX) --- The artificial surface at Irmo's W.C. Hawkins Stadium was filled with excited youngsters who took part in Marcus Lattimore's MVP camp Saturday morning.

The former Gamecock running back who left as the program's all-time touchdown leader had the attention of the campers as he showed them the proper technique that he uses as a member of the San Francisco 49ers.

The second-year NFL running back says he hopes kids will remember his message that high character is more important than what someone does on the field.

Lattimore has always been willing to give back to the Midlands community and he found an enthusiastic group of campers who endured a hot morning to learn from a USC icon.
