Hoover, AL (WLTX) - South Carolina has been picked to win the SEC's Eastern Division by sportswriters.

The media's predictions for who will win the conference's division and overall titles were released Thursday morning, the final day of SEC Media Days in Hoover, Alabama.

The Gamecocks were picked ahead of Georgia and Florida, followed by Missouri, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky.

USC is coming off three straight 11 win seasons, the best run in the program's history. While they lost defensive lineman Jadeveon Clowney and starting quarterback Connor Shaw to the NFL, the team looks to continue their unprecedented run led by redshirt senior QB Dylan Thompson.

The writers have Alabama winning both the SEC West and the overall conference title.

The Gamecocks placed three players, junior running back Mike Davis and senior offensive linemen A.J.Cann and Corey Robinson, on the preseason All-SEC second-team unit. Senior safety Brison Williams was named to the third-team squad.
