Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Time Warner Cable and ESPN's SEC Network have reached an agreement for the sports channel to be carried on the cable provider.
The companies announced the deal Thursday.
Time Warner, The largest cable provider in the Midlands, will begin carrying the channel on its launch date, set for August 14th. The move is particularly good news for the Columbia market, since the first game on the SEC Network will be South Carolina versus Texas A&M on August 28th.
With this latest deal, the SEC Network says it now will be in 60 million households nationwide.
AT&T UVerse, Dish Network, and TruVista Cable already had announced plans to have the network. Of the major television providers in the region, only DirectTV remains without a deal.
