Columbia, SC (WLTX) - USC guard Sindarius Thornwell has been named SEC Freshman of the Week.
Thornwell averaged 20.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in the team's back-to-back wins over Vanderbilt and Alabama. It was the first time since 2011 that USC won consecutive conference games.
In the 'Bama game, Thornwell scored 15 of the team's final 17 points.
He currently leads all SEC freshman in points (17.3), assists (4.08), and steals (1.33) a game.
USC next plays Wednesday night against Arkansas.
