Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- With three SEC Freshman of the Week honors and one Waymon Tisdale National Freshman of the Week award under his belt, USC's Sindarius Thornwell is one of eight players named to the SEC All-Freshman Team which was announced Tuesday by the league.

The Lancaster native is averaging 13.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 asssist per game, while being the only USC player to start all 31 games.

In SEC games, he leads all freshmen with 15.6 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 4.0 apg.

In the win over Mississippi State, Thornwell posted his sixth 20-point game, passing all-time leading scorer BJ McKie for the most by a USC freshman in that category.
