New York, NY (WLTX) - The San Francisco 49ers have drafted South Carolina wide receiver Bruce Ellington.
Ellington was the 106th overall pick, going in the 4th round.
During his Carolina career, Ellington had 1,586 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.
Ellington was a two-sport star for the Gamecocks, where in addition to football he also was the starting point guard for the basketball team.
He was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in both football and basketball.
When he gets to San Francisco, he'll find some familiar faces: both Marcus Lattimore and Chris Culliver are former Gamecocks who are members of that franchise.
He'll also have a fan who's ready to go out west to watch him play. His former basketball coach at USC, Frank Martin, said on Twitter he can't wait to see Ellington and Lattimore play next year.
