Houston, TX (WLTX) - The Houston Texans had day one of rookie mini-camp Friday, and that meant the first look at number one draft pick Jadeveon Clowney as a member of the team.

He went through drills at the team's facility in Houston, running with his fellow new arrivals to the NFL squad. This was a no-pads drill; the main goal of the event is to start familiarizing players with the way the Texans do business.

After months of hype about where he might go, Clowney said he's glad to get back to football.

"It's definitely a relief now that I'm part of the Houston Texans," he told reporters afterward. "I'm just really trying to be here and learn the playbook, go with the team, and listen to [Head Coach Bill] O'Brien.

Clowney played three seasons at South Carolina, becoming a consensus All-American during his sophomore year.
