Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- Victor Hampton finally has a shot at the NFL.

The former USC cornerback who never received a call during the NFL draft has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Hampton led the Gamecocks in 2013 with 43 solo tackles and was second with three interceptions.

Several NFL draft experts predicted Hampton would be a fourth or fifth-round selection. But in April, Hampton was questioned by New York City police concerning an incident at a New York City nightclub. While Hampton was cleared of any wrongdoing, that along with an April arrest on charges of disorderly conduct was enough for NFL team to stay away during draft week.

Now Hampton has his shot at the NFL with the Bengals who will give the Darlington graduate every opportunity to make the 53-man roster.
