Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- There's another setback for former Gamecock Marcus Lattimore's pro career.
The running back will not be taking part in pre-season workouts with the San Francisco 49ers due to issues with his hamstring and knee.
On a post on the 49ers website Coach Jim Harbaugh said "The trainers, doctors evaluate and they make those decisions," Harbaugh said. "As an organization, we do what's best for the member of the team, the youngster on the team, because, ultimately, that's in our best interests."
Lattimore is in his second year with the 49ers. He has not been able to play a single down in the NFL because of the knee injury that he suffered playing in his junior year at USC.
