As we head into the holiday weekend, mother nature is sending us some pretty nice weather whether you're staying in the Midlands or heading to the beach.
Friday will be another hot day with high temperatures in the low 90's.
But then a cold front will push southward through the Midlands during the early evening hours producing isolated thunderstorms. Although storms will be very spotty, any storm that develops has the potential to turn severe. The storm prediction center has most of the Midlands under a slight risk for severe weather with the main threats being damaging winds or large hail.
Right now our forecast model is predicting these storms will move through the Midlands between 5PM and 10PM.
This front will push to our south Saturday and high pressure will take back control. Saturday and Sunday look fantastic with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 80s.
If you're going to the beach this weekend, the weather looks nice there too with lots of sunshine and highs right around 80 degrees.
If you're going to spend time on Lake Murray, you'll also soak up the sunshine and enjoy some warm weather with temperatures in the mid 80's.
Memorial Day will also be a mostly dry and very warm day with highs in the upper 80's with just a small chance for a storm or two late in the day.
