Columbia 7 Day Forecast Discussion

*** STORMS TO END WEEKEND, THEN SOME COOLER AIR...  ***

.....Today, a strong cold front will move through the state.   A line of showers/storms is expected to move through the Midlands by late afternoon and evening.  Some storms could contain very heavy rains and gusty winds. 

.....This front is a quick mover and by the start of next workweek, drier air will return to the Midlands, clouds will be decreasing by Monday, though an isolated shower will still be possible.

..... Skies will be mainly sunny for Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will begin to rebound, though we'll be a bit below normal Tuesday, with highs in the upper 60s By Wednesday, highs will return to the 70s.

.....Rain will return to the forecast by next weekend, isolated showers will be possible, though high temperatures will remain in the low 70s.

.....The weather makes a large change today as a cold front moves into the area. Winds will be increasing from the east, then to the southwest as the front passes. Expect rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and into the evening. Heavy downpours of rain and strong gusty winds will be possible with some of these storms. Highs will be near 70.

Midlands Forecast Discussion

 *** STORMY SUNDAY ON THE WAY... ***

SUNDAY

.....A strong cold front will apporach the area late in the day.  A line of showers and storms will slide into the state from west to east by the late afternoon and evening hours. 
.....This means that outdoor plans PRIOR to 2 PM should be fine, however, conditions will deteriorate as we approach the evening and early nighttime hours.  Heavy rains and gusty winds will be the two primary threats.
.....Highs will still reach near 70, despite the clouds and impending storms.

SUNDAY NIGHT

Clouds will remain in the area, though the storms and rain will settle down a bit. Showers will still be scattered through the area. Low temperatures will be in the low 50s.

MONDAY

.....Clouds will be moving out as the cold front gets out of the area pretty quickly. Some lingering showers will be possible early. Expect temperatures to be a bit cooler, as highs will only be near 60.
