Northwestern Calhoun County in central South Carolina... Central Lexington County in central South Carolina... Central Richland County in central South Carolina... * Until 915 PM EDT * At 715 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen. * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Columbia, Lexington, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, Springdale, Dentsville, Oak Grove, St. Andrews, Red Bank, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, Gaston, Arcadia Lakes, Five Points, Woodfield, Swansea, Pelion, Gilbert and Seven Oaks. Additional rainfall of one to two inches inches is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
