In the south, and especially South Carolina, brides will traditionally have a bridal portrait made before the wedding. For those new to the area this may seem unfamiliar but we love the idea. Instead of just having a hair and makeup trial (as is the custom elsewhere), you get a full trial run of the dress and photos to see how everything looks.

In addition to being a great "girly" time to wear your dress again, it is the best way to see how your makeup and everything will look before your wedding day. We suggest that this is the best time in your life to have a professional consultation about your makeup. If possible have swatches of the color of your dress so that the consultant can make sure to get the right makeup coloring.
