Today, there are many types of showers that friends and family members may throw for the bride.  Traditionally, bridal showers were only for females, but today, men are allowed in on some of the fun!  Not only are they invited to co-ed showers, but men can also have parties thrown in their honor, such as tool showers! 

Many showers have special themes! Following is a list of theme ideas and descriptions:

•  Calendar- Each guest receives a different month and buys a gift the couple will use during that time.  For example, you can give the couple barbeque equipment if you are assigned July.
•  Honeymoon- Give the couple things they will need on their honeymoon (beach towels, camera, etc.)
•  Item/Area Specific Shower- Examples include: stock the bar, lawn and garden, linen, kitchen, etc.
•  Around the Clock- Each guest receives a different time and buys the couple a gift accordingly.  For example, you can give the bride a juicer if you receive an early morning time.
