The best consultants can help you save not only time, but also money, by keeping you from making costly mistakes. A good consultant will have plenty of experience and usually have started their career in a profession that is related to weddings and events. Be cautious of the following words, "Well, I planned my own wedding (or my best friends wedding) . . ." They may have done a nice job for themselves, but when it comes to contracts and inter-professional contacts they are often sent scrambling.

How much does a consultant usually cost? 12 to 20% of the entire wedding budget, depending on experience. Some may be negotiable, so don't be afraid to ask.
