Are you planning a destination wedding?
Keep these tips in mind!

• Ask about discounts!  Many resorts are interested in attracting destination-wedding groups, as this is great for their business!  They will often have special packages for just such an occasion.  Let the hotel staff know how many people you plan to bring, and ask them to work with you on pricing!

• Send save the dates!  Let your guests know as early as possible.  This allows them to shop for the best airfares and to budget accordingly.  Remember you may also be cutting in to their family vacation times.  You can avoid this by giving them fair warning.

• Study up on the legal matters! Did you know that tying the knot in England requires a seven-day residency?  If you are planning a destination wedding, knowing the legal requirements is crucial! Contact the local tourism office to find out about these particulars.

• What’s in a name?  If you are a bride-to-be and are planning on taking your husband’s last name, don’t be too quick to adopt it!  This could cause problems at the airport if your tickets are in your new name, but your passport still has your maiden name.  Save the new moniker for when you get home!
