Anne McQuary is a multi-platform producer at WLTX-TV in Columbia, SC, focusing on content across multiple platforms.
Anne has spent her whole life in journalism. There was a tiny detour in the 90's when she worked as a truck stop waitress but mostly it's been all journalism all the time.
It began innocently enough, working for the local newspaper in her hometown of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Taking pictures of high school sports and portraits and general news which led to attending Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
After numerous internships at the St. Paul Pioneer Press in St. Paul, Minnesota, Flint Journal in Flint Michigan, Saginaw News in Saginaw, Michigan, Fort Wayne Journal Gazette in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Then to jobs at the Biddeford Journal in Biddeford, Maine.
She is an award winning photojournalist who spent years at The State Newspaper, as both a photographer and an assignment editor and then to The Sun News in Myrtle Beach as their Director of Photography.
She left newspapers in 2005 and began to freelance with the New York Times, Associated Press, and various local and regional publications and began doing weddings and family portraits (which she still does).
She came to WLTX in 2012 and became the night assignment editor helping to coordinate the coverage of late breaking news. She began to do stories for the station and has been nominated for an Emmy, has won a regional Edward R Murrow award and two South Carolina Broadcaster's Association awards. She is a member of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA)
She is currently a multi-media producer continuing to do stories for both broadcast and web along with helping to put content on the website and coordinating reporters and photographers in the evenings.
