COLUMBIA, S.C. — Are your children always on a tablet, cell phone or any other devices? Want to be more physical but not sure where to take them? Here are ten things you and your family can do this summer to keep the kids active mentally and physically.

Palmetto Falls Water Park: Grab your swimsuit and goggles because Palmetto Falls Water Park will be your go-to cool down spot for the summer.  The park has two water slides, a lazy river, a kiddie pool and more.  The park is open to the public Tuesday-Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m and open to military and military families only Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday  p.m. to 7 p.m.

Riverbanks Zoo and Garden: Home to more than 2,000 animals, Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is where you can go for fun for both adults and kids.  

Congaree National Park: Get close to nature at Congaree National Park.  Located in Hopkins, South Carolina, the park offers activities such as hiking, canoeing, fishing, camping and even Ranger led programs.

Edventure Children's Museum: Both fun and educational, your child will be entertained from start to finish at Edventure.  Edventure is home to Eddie, the world-largest child according to their website.  They can travel throughout Eddie's entire body from his spine to his brain to his stomach. But that's not all that Edventure offers, the experience it self is hands-on and sure to keep the kids entertained for a few hours.    

Finlay Park: Finlay Park is great for day outdoors when the weather is just right.  The park has two playgrounds, a man-made lake, water fall and more. So whether you want to sit out and enjoy a picnic or take the kids to burn off energy, Finlay Park is the perfect family environment. 

River Front Park: River Front Park is perfect for a nice stroll, jog or even a bike ride.  The Park even includes an outdoor gym.  

Owens Field Park: Grab your skateboard and knee pads because Owens Field Park has all your skating needs.  The 15,000 square-foot park has a street plaza, stairs, metal plated rails and "pool" bowls varying in depth from 4 to 12 feet. 

Irmo Community Park:  Located on Lake Murray Boulevard and Church Street, this local park has walking trails, a playground, a picnic area and more.

Frankie's Fun Park: Great arcade and outdoor park for everyone in the family. Frankie's Fun Park has arcade games, laser tag, go-kart tracks and more.  And if you get tired and need a break, Frankie's Fun Park offers a full menu from pizza to chicken tenders and more.  

The Play Zone: Play Zone is an indoor playground for children 10 years and younger.  Kids will have fun while using their imagination and creativity.
