(WLTX) - Most people spend their lives avoiding being locked up. But, these days, some are jumping at the opportunity - just as long as an escape is possible through a series of clues and puzzles. It's the craze that's sweeping the world!
This one, however, is an "invitation only" event with a big jackpot at the end! But why these six strangers? And who is behind it all? It's not gruesome enough to be our old friend, Jigsaw. However, that's probably where the differences end. "Escape Room" is "Saw" for teenagers!
I suppose it can be perceived as "fun" if you look past the silliness. But I was anticipating smart deduction that challenged the audience as well as those onscreen. Clearly, I expected too much. Once again, roped in by the alluring term "psychological thriller." A victim of my own preconception.
However, I must say it did deliver when it came to: language, violence, suggestive material and perilous action...LOTS of perilous action. But seeing it and feeling it are two different things. And, when you have one without the other, you get a heated Leemoji.
Maybe you're more forgiving, but I'd try to avoid getting trapped in "Escape Room."
