(WLTX) - December 21st, 2012 was clearly the worst day of Riley North's life. It was the day she witnessed her husband being gunned down because he considered stealing from an evil man. And, as collateral damage, she also lost her little girl (on her birthday, no less!) Then, once the justice system failed her, she decided to take matters into her own hands. Now, after five years of vigilante school abroad, it's payback time!

This former soccer mom doesn't just plan to wipe out the drug cartel. She's also after anyone in cahoots with them. Crooked cops, lying lawyers and malevolent magistrates are all fair game. And she has no problem dying for the cause.

Some may argue that she has taken her revenge too far. But, to the common folk, she's a hero! Her actions have gone viral and, now, the homeless believe they have their own guardian angel. Whatever the case, anyone who stands in her way better say their prayers - because she doesn't hesitate to pull the trigger.

We've seen the revenge thriller in multiple incarnations. However, it's usually a man at the center of the action. An angry mom is a bit of a new approach, but they seem to be following an old blueprint. Just when we thought we were able to forget "Death Sentence," "Peppermint" comes along to remind us of that local misfire.

It may go without saying - but bloody violence and profanity run throughout "Peppermint"...sometimes even creatively! However, it's not enough to impress the Leemoji. When it comes right down to it, "Peppermint" lacks flavor.
