(WLTX) - Modern technology consumes our lives these days. From the moment we wake up, until we finally logout, life consists of texts, tweets. posts and selfies. So, does a film viewed entirely through a computer window make for a natural adjustment? Well, it seems to be getting better.

We've been witnessing this concept a lot lately. However, it's often used for the purpose of horror with cyberspace serving as a mysterious link to "the other side." But, director, Aneesh Chaganty aims for something a little more real and, hence, much more frightening.

David Kim is experiencing every parent's nightmare. His only daughter has disappeared without a trace. The police claim to be doing all they can. But that won't stop David from following the electric trail left behind on her laptop...which contains a number of new surprises!

Maybe Margot's life wasn't perfect - but he's still pretty sure he knew his little girl. She's no runaway and he's holding onto hope for her safe return. Either way, he's determined to see it through. And we're right there with him for every false lead, red herring and dead end he explores.

I'm not sure I was completely sold on the outcome, but the lead performance by John Cho was quite captivating. It was certainly enough to put a smile on the face of the Leemoji! Then again, he's a big fan of "Harold and Kumar."

But this thriller is a long way from White Castle and anyone attending should prepare for a heavy ride. They should also expect profanity as well as drug and sexual references (aka teenage behavior).

Perhaps the story still takes a backseat to the movie's concept. But the formula gets a little more refined each time out, which makes "Searching" the best of its kind!
