COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Hollings Library on the campus of The University of South Carolina was packed Thursday.  Hundreds were in attendance to see Roy and Dann Thomas.

The comic book couple worked for both Marvel and DC, in that time writing stories for Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Conan, Wolverine, Hulk, Luke Cage and more.

For this event, they were celebrating the Four Color Fantasies comic book exhibit which is set to close January 31st.  The exhibit was donated by collector Gary Lee Watson and features more than 140,000 unique comic books and pulp publications.

During the event, Roy spoke about the significance comics to pop culture saying, "I always thought they deserved study.  They deserve study on so many levels, Sociology, History, so many levels.  They're a walking history of what a society is at a given moment."

In addition to the comic exhibit, the Thomases were also at Hollings Library to kick off its new program Friends of UofSC Libraries. Members have access to exhibits, tours, collections, talks by authors and artists, workshops and more.
