'Best present you could ever get' delivered a week early on Christmas day in Orangeburg

A Christmas miracle arrives in Orangeburg

While many people yesterday were honoring the birth of Jesus Christ, the Evans-Johnson family was also celebrating the arrival of another baby boy.

Sheldon Camarius-Johnson was born on Christmas morning at seven pounds and fifteen ounces.

Mother to the new baby boy, Santana Evans was filled with joy when saying, "The best present you could ever get is a child born on Jesus' birthday." The mother of three goes on to say, "I know he was ready to come. I know that much."

But Evans says the baby didn't come without a few surprises. "My water broke three days ago and I didn't even know it. But on Christmas morning, at about 5:15, I was feeling contractions. So, I called my brother to come and get me to take me to my mother's house and I called the ambulance and they took me to the hospital. I got here at about 6, and then I had him."

Although her original due date was New Year's Eve, the now mother of 3 couldn't be happier to welcome her new baby boy.

"I feel he’s a Christmas miracle and he’s a blessing…the best gift you could ever get on Christmas Day," says Evans.
