South Carolina woman beats COVID-19 after two months in hospital

McLeod Health sent out video of 68-year-old Cynthia Parks being dismissed from the hospital and getting to go home.

FLORENCE, S.C. — A South Carolina woman has gotten to go home after a nearly two month battle to beat the coronavirus. 

McLeod Health sent out video of 68-year-old Cynthia Parks being dismissed from the hospital and getting to go home.

She was surrounded by family, friends, nurses, and doctors as she left the hospital, and got a huge round of applause. 

Parks was in the hospital for a total of 54 days, meaning she was first admitted in early May. 

Parks then went back to her home in Pamplico.
