Columbia, SC (WLTX) - This year's lineup of performing acts for Columbia's Famously Hot New Year celebration has been announced, and it features Trombone Shorty as the headliner.

The city revealed the acts that will be part of their annual event that rings in the new year.

Trombone Shorty (whose real name is Troy Andrews) is a New Orleans native know for his uptempo, high-energy jazz/big brass music. He's performed twice at the White House, and has played alongside big acts such as Lenny Kravitz and Aerosmith. Currently, he's the opening act for the current Red Hot Chili Peppers tour.

He'll be proceeded by Sister Hazel, the folks rock band best known for their smash single in the 1990s, "All For You." For the opener, people will see and hear the "Capital City Playboys." They're a Rockabilly/garage rock party band from here in Columbia.

This is the sixth year for Columbia's Famously Hot New Year celebration. Last year, 35,000 filled downtown Columbia for a night of food, fun, music, and of course, the fireworks! LINK: Famously Hot New Year Website

And for the third year in a row, News19 will have a live broadcast from the event beginning at 11 p.m. for those who can't make it out to the event, where we'll have highlights from the night and the live fireworks display.
