COLUMBIA, S.C. — A total of 1,500 new jobs will be coming to South Carolina over the next five years, and the hiring process for some of those positions has already begun.
According to reports, Electrolux in Anderson is adding a third shift, and will be hiring 800 new workers -- 350 in July and another 450 in October. Job positions include team leads, process workers and maintenance technicians as well as temporary and temporary-to-hire positions for machine operators, assemblers, braziers and materials handlers. Human Technologies Inc (HTI) is handling the hiring process and interested persons can apply online or sign up to attend a job fair at Electrolux on June 27.
Electrolux manufactures Frigidaire and AEG freezers at the new 800,000-square-foot facility at 101 Masters Blvd in Anderson. Once the company has completed the hiring process, the fully operational plant should have a capacity of creating 3 million units per year.
York County will see the creation of 700 new jobs over the next five years as Ross Stores Inc implements a planned $68 million expansion at the company's warehouse and distribution center in Rock Hill.
Ross Stores is a chain of discount clothing stores with more than 1,800 retail locations in the US and Guam.
