Camille Graham Corrections Facility hosts 'Spring Extravaganza' for inmates

Women at the Camille Graham Correctional Facility got a chance to get away from their daily activities and enjoy poetry, music and dance during their Spring Extravaganza event.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Camille Graham Correctional Facility hosted a Spring Extravaganza event on Thursday.

Several women in the facility participated in the event, through storytelling, poetry and dance. The Benedict College Marching Band also performed, with music by DJ Prince Ice and a keynote address from News 19's Loren Thomas.

The South Carolina Department of Corrections Activity Therapy team organized the event and say that this gives the inmates a chance to get away from their life behind bars and celebrate the talents of the women in the facility.

This is the Activity Therapy program's third year. The program also includes art therapy, music therapy and soon health and wellness instructors for inmates.
