Cherokee County, SC (WLTX) - Two arrests have been made after a South Carolina man's body was found dismembered under his home Thursday afternoon.

Dawn Michelle Wilkins, 40, and her son Charles Jacob Bridges, 20, are charged with the murder of Gary James Stone, 51, of Gaffney.

Wilkins is Stone's common-law wife.

“His body was discovered dismembered in several containers under the residence," Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said in a statement. "I have scheduled an autopsy for this morning to assist in determining the cause of death and to make positive identification."

Family members had not heard from Stone since November 2, and notified police after a neighbor noticed blood on the victim's door, according to 7News.

Deputies didn't find anything unusual during welfare checks at the home. Wilkins, the common-law wife of Stone, said he left after an argument.

A detailed tip about a murder at the address led deputies to search the residence and find the body.
