Coroner identifies man found dead at business in Lexington, deputies continue to investigate

Lexington County Sheriff says the incident happened at a business on Ermine Road.

LEXINGTON, S.C. — The Lexington County Sheriff Department continues to investigate an incident that left one man dead and a woman injured at a local business.

Meanwhile, Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the man found at the business in the 400 block of Ermine Road in West Columbia on Tuesday, July 26. Philip Calvin Jackson, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple gunshot wounds.

The original Tweet from the Lexington County Sheriff's Department at first said two people had died at the scene, however, an unidentified 34-year-old woman was found injured by a gunshot and transported to a local hospital.

The woman's medical team updated Lexington Sheriff's deputies that she is in stable condition after undergoing surgery Tuesday night.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Jackson on Saturday, July 30, at MUSC.

Law enforcement reports that they are continuing the investigation and say that there is no ongoing threat to anyone nearby.
