Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- An Orangeburg man was arrested today on 11 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
South Carolina's Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of David Austin Robert Gillespie, 26, of Orangeburg, after members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force completed a forensic examination of computer-related items seized in a search warrant executed in early March.
SLED made the arrest, and the Orangeburg and Berkeley County Sheriff's Offices assisted. All agencies involved are members of the ICAC in South Carolina.
Investigators say Gillespie was involved in sending child pornography via file sharing across the internet.
If convicted, Gillespie faces up to ten years in prison on each of the eleven Felony counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, second degree, and his case will be prosecuted by the State Attorney General's office.
