SUMTER, S.C. — Tips from the community have led Sumter police to arrest three teens in connection to the shooting death of a 42-year-old.
The teens, whose names are not being released because of their ages are each charged with murder, burglary first degree and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
McKenzie Corey Stewart, 42 of Dingle street in Sumter died on Sept 30, 2019 after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Two of the teens charged entered the home and demanded money before shots were fired striking Stewart as the other teen waited outside.
Money and several other items were taken during the incident.
