COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia police say a woman has died after she was shot on North Main Street in Columbia Friday afternoon.
The shooting happened in the 4100 block of Marsteller Street. The 57-year-old victim was taken to the hospital initially with what were described as life-threatening injuries. Just before 4 p.m. Friday, investigators said that she passed away.
An autopsy will be conducted Saturday.
Officers have not yet said what they believe led up to the incident, but the shooting is said to be isolated. Investigators say they are working on strong leads in the case.
