$1,000 signing bonus offered as Richland One seeks to hire 85 teachers

Certified teacher vacancies primarily in math and science and special education

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland County School District One is seeking to fill 85 open certified teacher vacancies in this school year. The district employs nearly 2,000 teachers and the 85 open teaching positions available are primarily in math and science subject areas, as well as special education.

As an incentive, the open positions come with a $1,000 signing bonus.

Applicants must hold a valid South Carolina teaching certificate -- or be eligible for one -- and submit an application online through the Richland One website, www.richlandone.org

In addition to competitive salaries, qualified applicants can expect South Carolina retirement and health coverage and an opportunity to qualify for college tuition reimbursement.

For applicants who are not yet certified, Richland One and the University of South Carolina offer a pathway for teacher certification through the Carolina CAP Program -- a program that allows bachelor's degree holding teacher candidates to participate in a non-degree program leading to a full license.
