Benedict College launches first-ever graduate programs

COLUMBIA, S.C. — On July 1, Benedict College will open its doors to a historic, inaugural class of students in the College’s new Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduate program.

The Benedict College MBA program in the Tyrone Adam Burroughs School of Business and Entrepreneurship will offer concentrations in General Business, Management and Supply Chain Management.

The Benedict College MBA program offers students online and in-class sessions arranged in a combination of 5-week and traditional semesters. Enrollment is currently underway.

“The goal of the MBA program at Benedict College is to align critical thinking and practical application to develop professionals who are able to strategically position and lead an organization or private business,” said Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis, President and CEO of Benedict College.

The Supply Chain Management concentration is designed to prepare students to analyze and improve business process flows. The program will also expose them to lean production, global supply chain coordination, and strategic logistics management. 

The General Business concentration will prepare students to function in a dynamic business environment.  The program includes accounting, economics, management, finances, and marketing classes. 

The Management concentration is designed to prepare students with managerial and leadership skills. 

“We are excited to launch our first graduate program of study,” said Dr. Janeen Witty, Vice President of Academic Affairs. “It is our goal to support new and seasoned professionals in their pursuits to excel in their respective industries, as well as to meet the demands of our workforce in the city, state and region. We are confident that the Benedict College MBA program will accomplish this goal.”
