Have a pitbull? You can get them microchipped for free

But only if you live in Richland or Lexington county.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Do you have a Pitbull or Pitbull mix? Do you live in Richland or Lexington county? Then you could get your dog microchipped for free.

Pitbull and Pitbull mixes are the least likely breeds to leave a municipal shelter alive, which makes micro-chipping their best chance to make it home alive, according to Pawmetto Lifeline which is why they are offering this free service.

You can visit one of their Care-a-Van stops, wellness clinic or at their on-site vaccine clinic for free microchip with free registration.
