COLUMBIA, S.C. — Thousands traveled from across the country to experience March Madness in Columbia, and, on Saturday, a tournament break brought many of them to Main Street.
The 'famously hot' city gave a big southern welcome to basketball fans with the Hoop and Music Festival downtown.
The party kicked-off with the Soda City Market, as vendors lined the streets for Columbia's weekly market place.
Musicians later took the stage for free performances, as the crowd enjoyed snacks, an open bar and tournament games on video boards.
The tournament will resume at the Colonial Life Arena on Sunday starting with the University of Central Florida in a face-off against Duke at 5:15pm.
