Kershaw man sentenced to 50 years in teen's death

Stephen Ross Kelly pleaded guilty to murder, criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, and criminal domestic violence.

Kershaw County, SC (WLTX)-  Stephen Ross Kelly said in court today that he did kill Kershaw County teen Briana Rabon in March of 2014. He has been sentenced to 50 years.

Kelly pleaded guilty to murder, criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, and criminal domestic violence.

The 2013 Lugoff-Elgin High School graduate was found strangled in a wooded area near Haig's creek subdivision.

Authorities were able to link Kelly to the crime after finding evidence in his vehicle.

The state seeks life without parole.
