Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Let's be honest, vacations are healthy and necessary. However, you don't want your days of relaxation to put a strain on your financial responsibilities.

Money expert Steven M. Hughes from Know Money Inc. shares three ways to make money for your next trip so you won't bust your budget:

  1. Declutter and Sell- Spring cleaning has come and gone, but you may have some items around your home that are taking up space.
    • Start with the common area and make a list of furniture or items you no longer need
    • Do the same in your bedrooms and garage
    • Take pictures of hte first 3 things on your list and post them to Craigslist, OfferUp or Letgo
  2. Help some Young Parents- New parents are often trying to get time back to themselves.
    • The new addition could mean they need help dog walking, cleaning or getting alone time. Offer your help with pet watching, babysitting and house work.
  3. Pick up some Remote Work- Working remotely gives you time and location flexibility.
    • There are hundreds of companies and individuals looking for remote workers in writing, coding, finance, graphic design and more. Take advantage of the virtual assistant and contractor industry by checkout out Upwork and Fiverr for job postings that match your skills and abilities.
