RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — A 7-year-old Columbia girl has died after being shot on Monday, according to Richland County deputies.
Deputies say they received a call about the shooting on Rabon Pond Drive, in northeast Columbia, around noon on Monday.
Upon their arrival, deputies say they found a girl who had been shot in the upper body. She was rushed to the hospital, where she died from her injuries, according to deputies.
At this time, deputies say the shooting is believed to have been accidental but the incident is under investigation.
