KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — A crash on Interstate 20 in Kershaw County ended with the death of a pedestrian Thursday night.

The victim, identified as 77-year-old Charles Bryant, was trying to cross I-20 when he was hit by a car near mile marker 94. He had parked his car at an eastbound rest area, and was trying to reach the westbound side of the interstate.

Bryant's body was found lying in a westbound lane, according to the Kershaw County Coroner's Office. He was killed at the scene.

The driver of the car involved in the crash was treated for minor injuries after his car veered off the road and hit an embankment.

No charges are expected in this case.
