Columbia, SC (WLTX) - That trip to the "Big Apple" is about to get a little easier for all those flying out of Columbia.

Beginning May 3, 2019, American Airlines will begin nonstop service from Columbia Metropolitan Airport to New York's LaGuardia Airport.

So, here's the flight's schedule:

  • Departure leaves Columbia at 6:55 a.m. and arrives in New York at 9 a.m.
  • Return flight leaves New York at 9:29 p.m. and gets into Columbia at 11:36 p.m.

The airline says this flight is a win for business travelers, allowing them to "get to New York City in the morning to conduct business and return the same day if needed." But, if you're just looking for a day of food, fun and tourism, the airline has you covered, too.

This new flight is an additional option for New York flyers, as Delta also flies nonstop from Columbia to New York.

Currently, Columbia Metropolitan Airport offers these nonstop flight destinations using various airlines:

  • Dallas
  • Washington National
  • Philadelphia
  • Charlotte
  • Atlanta
  • Chicago
  • Houston
  • Washington Dulles

And don't forget, Disney lovers can fly nonstop to Orlando on Via Airlines beginning December 21!
