COLUMBIA, S.C. — Will Columbia's North Main district soon see a barbecue restaurant and beer garden in the future?
Plans for a restaurant, smokehouse and beer garden go before Columbia's Design/Development Review Commission next week for approval.
According to the published agenda, Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint, a whole hog, live-fire Nashville-based restaurant chain has plans for a location on North Main, near Kinard Street. Two sites -- consisting of three lots at 2203, 2301 and 2307 Main -- will make up the property, one as the restaurant and beer garden, the other as a remote parking lot.
The primary property is currently home to an existing auto repair garage and two other buildings that would be repurposed to create the restaurant.
