A 23-year-old Blackstock man born without arms hopes to raise money for a bionic arm with the help of social media.
"You really don't know no other way," Henry "Bubba" Stevenson said.
Stevenson has put his best foot forward his entire life.
"He would suck a sucker holding it with his feet and he held his own bottle and sippy cup that way and he just adapted using his feet," Bubba's mother Janise Stevenson said.
Bubba was born without both of his arms, but he can do about anything someone with arms can do---Including shooting a pistol.
"I kind of figured it out," Bubba said.
Although he's very independent, Bubba has longed to do a couple things without his feet or unassisted, and for him, a bionic arm would do just that.
"I started watching videos on YouTube and stuff and it made me get interested in it," he said.
Bubba's sisters helped him make Facebook and Go Fund Me pages to ask for donations. He needs $60,000 for just one arm.
"It would help me be able to do a lot of things I can't do like drive and be able to dress myself and like when I go shopping be able to reach stuff off the top shelf, just stuff like that and shoot my rifle standing up," he said.
So far he's collected almost $2,000 and people are even challenging others to donate by getting cold water splashed onto them.
His mom says every little bit is a step forward.
"I hope people will reach out to him and help him. If he could get one arm that would be a really good thing for him," she said.
If you want to help Bubba reach his goal you can go to his Go Fund Me page. Or send donations directly to him at:
