Dad-Daughter Duet Goes Viral in Girl Scout Cookie Video

The daddy-daughter duo created a parody to remix Stone Mountain native Childish Gambino's hit song "Redbone".

DULUTH, Ga. — A metro Atlanta Girl Scout and her father are taking over your Facebook feed with a smile-worthy remix of a hit song, all in an effort to sell more cookies.

Duluth resident Seymore Harrison and 6-year-old daughter Charity were brainstorming ideas on how to help the Girl Scout get more cookie orders.

"We were out to dinner, and we saw some girl scout videos that were doing parodies of some different songs," Harrison said. "So we started messing around at the table trying to put the words to a song."

"Charity picked out some of her favorite cookies, and we put those cookies in a song and it went from there."

Charity's cookie of choice?

"Thin Mints."

The adorable video has been viewed more than two million times and has over 65,000 shares on Facebook.

"Everyone talks about how cute Charity is and how they like the way she's snapping in the video," Harrison said.

The local dad says his inbox has been flooded with positivity from viewers.

"People like the fact that a father is involved with the Girl Scouts and selling the cookies," Harrison explained to 11Alive. "Girl Scout moms have been reaching out about how much they like having 'cookie dads' around."

Charity initially set her sights on selling 1300 boxes of cookies this season. But with the help of her video, she's already sold over 1600 boxes. Her new goal is to reach 2500.
