Deadline to move items from Allen Benedict Court 5pm Monday

Columbia Housing Authority asks former residents to call to collect belongings

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Former residents of Allen Benedict Court have until 5 p.m. Monday, July 15, to collect any remaining belongings from units at the public housing community.

Columbia Housing Authority had extended the June 30 deadline until today.

Interim Executive Director Ivory Mathews said “If any former resident of Allen Benedict Court is facing any kind of hardship situation that prevents them from getting all of their belongings, they should phone the Columbia Housing Authority’s executive offices at 803-254-3886 ext 211 for assistance. In addition, we also want to thank our community partners and private citizens who reached out to help our residents through this transition. So many people did so much to help and we appreciate all of those efforts.”

All of the affected families have since relocated into new residences.
